Manuscripts  were  written by hand which comes from the Latin word ‘manu’ , meaning hand. These were usually written on palm leaf, or specially prepared bark of a tree known as the birch which grows in the Himalayas.

Inscriptions are writings on relatively hard surfaces such as stone or metal. Kings got their orders inscribed so that people could see, read and obey them. There are other kinds of inscriptions such as kings and queens recorded what they did like kings often kept records of victories in battle.

A manuscript typically refers to a handwritten or typed document, often literary or historical in nature, that hasn't been published yet. It can include anything from novels and essays to letters and legal documents. Manuscripts can be ancient or modern and can vary in size and complexity.

On the other hand, an inscription usually refers to writing engraved or carved into a surface, such as stone, metal, or wood. These inscriptions can be found on monuments, gravestones, buildings, and artifacts. They often serve as records of historical events, dedications, or memorializations. Unlike manuscripts, inscriptions are typically permanent and intended for public viewing.
